Here’s what’s happening at LOCI — news, ideas, and things we like
Project Feature: City of Kelowna Parklet Challenge
LOCI was invited by the City of Kelowna to participate alongside several other companies to design a parklet for the Meet me on Bernard Festival - a summer event hosted by the City of Kelowna that converted the 400 and 500 blocks of Bernard Avenue in Downtown Kelowna, into a pedestrian/active transportation corridor and outdoor event space that included outdoor patios, pop-up shops, public art venues, and parklets.
Meet the team
We are a dedicated group of landscape architects, urban designers and graphic specialists who love the West Coast and share a like-minded ambition to make better places in our cities.
Hikes we love
Spending time in forests and on the trails is a source of inspiration for our daily work. For us, hiking is a relaxing way to engage with nature and connect with our local landscape and ecology.
What’s in a name?
Our firm’s identity stems from the idea of genius loci. A term that refers to a location's distinctive atmosphere, it's nature, or spirit of place.
3D Flythroughs
Video animation and 3D-modelling allow us to explore ideas and communicate clearly with our clients and consultants before projects are built. Here’s a sample from the Cambie Gardens project.
Inside our studio
Located in East Vancouver at Kingsway near Victoria drive, our studio is a small and adaptable open-concept office that serves as a central gathering point and creative hub for the team.
